Foster Greene LLC is what Southern hospitality would sound like; it’s like your favorite old pair of loafers. It’s the merging of two talented and experienced musicians from different backgrounds but alike in philosophy, musical tastes and approach to life.
Dan Foster, an ex-Marine, began his music career in the early seventies playing coffee houses while attending Michigan State University. He’s been passionate about his music ever since. Throughout the 70’s and 80’s, Dan played lead guitar & sang harmonies for several bands, including “Minimum Balance”, “High Cotton”, and “Radio Rangers”. It’s during this period that he began writing songs from the heart—about loss, love, and life from a seasoned pro’s point of view. Dan’s lyrics are relatable and poignant, and his guitar work is beautiful.
Georgia native Paula Greene Jones has been singing since she can remember and writing for almost that long. She has recorded five cds with her songwriting partner of 27 years, John Ragin (The Dewberries). Paula loves performing almost as much as she does writing and producing music. She was lead female singer for 20 years in Atlanta-based party band, “Powerplay”. She had her own entertainment business for 12 years as “The Versatile Vocalist”. Paula’s known for her spot-on renditions of many genres of music, but most notably, country.
Dan and Paula have the same goals with their music: perform songs about real life experiences, some of them written by their favorite songwriters, some penned themselves, with the deeply driven emotion they were meant to have. Their music is best categorized as “Americana”, and includes old fashioned country, folk, light rock, bluegrass, & rockabilly. Foster Greene loves a good melody, and they shine when it comes to vocal harmonies.
Foster Greene is professional, dependable, and passionate. You’ll always leave their show refreshed, spirit renewed, and wearing a smile.
